dog and cat footprints

Its helps if we know the difference between a dog and a cat footprint. On the left is a dog print, notice nails are out, the two front toes are sort of in line, and the rear pad shape. And the shape of the toes.

Now we see a cat print, the give away are 3 lobes at the back of the plantar lobe(rear pad)the top of the plantar lobe(flat)the shape of the toes and the no nails. And the uneven alignment of the front toes.Note-dogs do not always leave nail marks, and sometimes, cats will leave nails...Australian substrate is so dry it is very hard to get decent prints of Australian big cats.!
